Civil Disobedience

Posted in Citizenship on September 20th, 2007

The time has come to just say NO!

I call on those citizens of Macon and Bibb county that are tired of the rampant Boomcars to make some noise of their own. Let us send a message to law enforcement and the politicians that pay them that we are tired of the lost sleep, disturbed quiet time in our own homes; indeed the loss of our very basic quality of life and pursuit of happiness that we as citizens are guaranteed by those documents which founded this great nation.

We must say to the government and law enforcement of Macon and Bibb county that we will no longer be held hostage due to their inaction. We must hold their feet to the fire of public opinion and demand that they enforce the laws of the State of Georgia.

I am calling for those citizens who are ready to say NO! to stand up and make yourself heard.

Beginning on October 1st 2007 I am calling on every citizen of Macon and Bibb county to send the distress signal of three short blasts
on any sound making device at any time they see any uniformed officer of either the Macon Police department of the Bibb County Sheriff’s department patrolling the streets of our community.

This is an act of civil disobedience and could result in a ticket or fine. However, the publicity that would result would likely embarrass Law Enforcement when its lack of action in stopping boomers is subjected to the glare of the media spotlight.

So join The Angry Citizen in peacefully but loudly petitioning our Government for redress of grievances.

The right attitude.

I found this Jody call while mindlessly surfing Google. I think it displays the attitude that this country is losing at far too rapid a pace.

These boots were made for walkin’
And that’s just what they’ll do
If all you’re doing is markin’ time
They’ll walk all over you
These guns were made for shootin’
And that’s just what they’ll do
And if we get a mission
We’ll drill a hole in you
This Army’s trained for fightin’
And that’s just what we’ll do
If you pick a fight with us
We’ll walk all over you

Change the line

This Army’s trained for fightin
to
This countries ready for fightin’

And I think you can see my point.

Thank God for $3.50 gasoline. True, we had it for only a brief, shining moment, and there is not much good to be said about the catastrophic hurricanes that caused it. But the price was already inexorably climbing as a result of 2.3 billion Chinese and Indians industrializing. Their increased demand is what brought us to the energy knife’s edge and makes us so acutely vulnerable to supply disruptions.
Pump Some Seriousness Into Energy Policy

O yes! At last a serious voice in the wilderness. More on this later when I am not so tired.

Below is the link to an essay I wrote in 2002 while studying sociolgy at Mercer University.

While I don’t think drilling in ANWR is a good idea or neccessary I think it is inevitable at some point. I think that doing it before the need becomes critical will allow greater control over the process and will in the long run have less environmental impact then if it is done on a rush critical basis when the US is in a crisis mode.
